Leading ladies of commerce, industry, banking, politics and the silver screen were hosted to tea by High Commissioner for Pakistan Seema Baloch, at her residence last week to mark International Women's Day. First Lady Shiranthi Rajapaksa also graced the occasion.
It was a pleasant evening with the ladies enjoying convivial company and afterwards making a few purchases of some beautiful handcrafted Pakistani designer outfits, jewellery and rugs that were on display.
A blossoming affair
The Shi-En Ikebana and Floral Art Society held a demonstration by British floral expert Ian Buxton 'Celebrating Flowers & Flavours' last Sunday March 18 at the Galadari Hotel in Colombo and it was a packed audience to hear the National Association of Flower Arrangement Societies (NAFAS) judge sharing his ideas and floral artistry.
The proceeds from the show will go towards the Thalassaemia ward of the Karapitiya Hospital in Galle, which has been the society's main cause these past few years.

A toast to Roberto
