The local mobile unit of UAE-based Etisalat recently concluded its third Android forum for 2012, the fourth overall, with the most recent aimed at senior managers at Sri Lankan corporates during which it promoted ways in which the Android mobile operating system could "maximise business potential", according to a statement. 2012's previous two Android forums focused on developers and new users.
Further, the event featured a presentation by Harsha Purasinghe, Chief Executive of local mobile application (app) developer Microimage, who spoke on the "way that Android has changed the face of human resource management, the broadcast media and publishing; citing the launch of Book Hub, Sri Lanka's first eBook reader and online book store as a prime example."
Also making a presentation, Etisalat's local Chief Executive, Dumindra Ratnayake commented on how smart devices utilising Android had "changed the personal and professional lives of executives on the go”. He also spoke on the ability of applications to target niche segments and niche needs, allowing application developers to design solutions that cater to very specific customer needs. |
