In order to recognize creative cinema and teledrama works screened and telecast in the year 2011, entries are called for the 36th SIGNIS Salutation by the National Catholic Social Communication Centre now.
All the films released during the year 2011 and teledramas telecast with less than 75 episodes together with one-episode teledramas can be submitted for competition while entries are called for documentaries, short films, advertisements, trailers, music videos and animations.
Like in the previous years three SIGNIS International Homages will be presented to veteran cinema personalities and Cyril B. Perera Memorial Award for the promotion of cinematic literature while ‘Jayawilal Wilegoda Memorial Award’ will be awarded to critics under the title ‘Nuthana Sanniwedana Prawanatha Hamuwe Deshiya Sinamawe Heta Dawasa’ (The future of Sri Lankan cinema with the currents trends in the modern mass-communication).
The entries for all the competitions should be submitted in DVDs before May 15, 2012 at SIGNIS Office, 19, Balcolm Place, Cotta Road, Borella, Colombo 8.
