April 7 proved to be more than just another Saturday, it truly lived up to being a day of reckoning.
As the evening progressed, it felt like it was a wonderful piece of art with all the elements coming together in fluid motion… with the guest performers delighting the audience, the hosts doing their spiels as they bantered with each other while keeping the programme at a convenient pace.
And more importantly the two most special pieces of the puzzle: Jude Perera and Dulani Ramenaden who on that night were more than just contestants or finalists ---
Dulani started with her cover of Kelly Clarkson’s A Moment Like This, which was followed by Jude with his version of Jeff Buckley’s Hallelujah.
After the first round people were told to vote while in-between breaths you could hear them say “this really is the moment and hallelujah.”
Even during the second round when Dulani and Jude decided to just let go and groove to “So Excited and DJ Got Us Falling in Love”--- the intensity of the competition refused to cease.
The duet may not have had as much effect as the first two rounds but nevertheless, it was a treat hearing these two wonderful voices coming together for one single melodic piece.
And just before the night ended and after much of the suspenseful acts carried out with success by Danu and Zane….
One name was called…. Cause in the end --- there can only be one!!!
