The latest comedy by Indu Darmasena,"At Your Service" will go on the boards of Lionel Wendt on February 27th and 28th. It was initially performed at the Wendt in October last year. Indu has decided to run the play again as a result of numerous requests by those who missed it the first time.
The play is set in a little hotel in the cool hills of Sri Lanka named "Hill Star". The Manager, Mr. Perera is an utter moron! He talks big and dreams high. His only ambition is to make Hill Star a five star hotel (Poor Mr. Perera!). Apart from Mr. Perera the hotel is manned by a massive staff of 2! Chris and Tony. They basically fill all vacancies in the hotel trade... Receptionist, Housekeeper, Public Relations Manager, Waiter, Porter, Cook, etc.
Now everyone's all agog for the arrival of the so called 'Hong Kong Agent' who is supposed to represent a Hong Kong investor interested in Hill Star!!! Poor Mr. Perera is at the height of insanity when he receives a phone call informing him that an international drug pusher is among the guests of the hotel! From there onwards, its confusion, confusion and more confusion!
Indu Dharmasena claims to have been greatly influenced by the hilarious British tele series, "Fawlty Towers''.''At Your Service" however is far from being a copy of "Fawlty Towers" with its absolutely localised and hilarious twists. The origin of the play is a comic skit performed at a leading five star hotel in Colombo revolving around certain funny incidents that took place there. It's fresh, and funny!!
Mr. Perera is played by the inimitable Indu Dharmasena. The rest of the cast consists of some fresh young faces. The beautiful Chris and the beleagued Tony are played by Ramali Fonseka and Pubudu Jayawardena respectively. Hill Star's long suffering guests are played by Mariza Jansz, Christaleeta Soza, Lasantha Rodrigo, Charmaine Tillekeratne, Dulantha de Silva and Ramesh Navaratne.

All DJs who enter will have to bring their own CDs or records and they will be provided the equipment they need. They will be given a half hour slot to perform during which time they will be judged on how they motivate the crowd, their mixing abilities and their creative flair.
