The Colombo Stock Exchange (CSE) has launched Regulated Short Selling (RSS) through Stock Borrowing and Lending (SBL) on November 6.
This initiative aims to promote market efficiency and enhance liquidity while improving the market microstructure of the CSE, aligning with international standards and best practices.
Prior to the launch, CSE said in a statement that it conducted multiple workshops and awareness sessions (both physical and virtual) for the stakeholders and the general public on the RSS and SBL, which were well received by the participants.
