The Colombo rubber auctions have recorded a very steady week for the superior grades which has to be maintained to obtain these prices, broker Asia Siyaka reported.
The market moved up further to Rs.715 per kilo of rubber for the premium grades compared to the previous week’s Rs.650.
Even in the lower grades prices firmed up by about Rs.20 and the middle grades moved up by as much as about Rs. 50, it was stated.
However, the RSS grades were in very poor demand since the international market has been very low. Bids are around Rs.445 per kilo for the RSS grades. (SD)
