Former Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of SriLankan Airlines Kapila Chandrasena has been found dead at his residence in Kollupitiya.
The Police Media Unit said that Kollupitiya Police are investigating the matter.
The discovery comes a day after the Colombo Chief Magistrate's Court issued a warrant for Mr. Chandrasena's arrest following submissions made by the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery and Corruption (CIABOC) alleging that he had violated his bail conditions. The Commission alleged that the suspect had violated conditions of his bail and breached the trust placed in him by the court by producing two unsuitable sureties before court.
Mr. Chandrasena had been arrested by the CIABOC in March in connection with the alleged acceptance of bribes during the purchase of Airbus aircraft for the national carrier. He had been granted bail by the Colombo Chief Magistrate's Court on Tuesday (5).
