Union Assurance was recently honoured with top awards at the Bancassurance Annual Awards 2021.
The company performed exceptionally well in 2021, becoming Sri Lanka’s No. 1 Bancassurance provider with an ANBP of over Rs. 1 billion and coverage of over 618 bank branches of seven leading bank partners, it said in a media release.
Chief Executive Officer of Union Assurance, Jude Gomes, praised the winners for their outstanding achievements. He noted that the Bancassurance team proved their mettle despite operating in a very challenging year, leading the field with innovative solutions, service excellence, and digital convenience. “Their performance heralds a new era for Bancassurance in Sri Lanka, helping to narrow the protection gap,” he added.
According to Mr. Gomes, the company’s Bancassurance operations have greatly enhanced its portfolio value, paving the way for sustainable business growth.
Chief Bancassurance Officer of Union Assurance, Vindya Cooray, applauded the team for delivering exceptional results with their professionalism and dedication. She said their focus is to excel in everything they do. “We have a highly skilled team, along with the technology and systems in place to deliver the best,” she emphasised.
At the Bancassurance Annual Awards, Union Assurance recognised many top performers including the members of the best-in-class rewards and recognition club - Circle of Excellence. The biggest award of the night – Champion of Champions for 2021 – was won by Nimesha Sewwandi Weerawarna Jayasekara of the Nations Trust Bank Channel.
The Pinnacle Award winners at the ceremony were Harsha Sudarshana Wijesinghe and Nimesha Sewwandi Weerawarna Jayasekara – both from the Nations Trust Bank Channel. Each will receive a scholarship for a professional development programme, a foreign tour, and a company maintained luxury vehicle for use.
