The Delegation of German Industry and Commerce in Sri Lanka (AHK Sri Lanka), the official representative of German business in Sri Lanka, is organising its first conference on the topic of “Sustainable Mobility, Traffic & Public Transport Solutions and Logistics” at Hilton Colombo Residences on January 28.
The conference is part of the Foreign Market Entry Programme initiated by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWi) and takes place within the framework of a business delegation from Germany to Sri Lanka visiting from January 27 to 31.
The organisers said in a media release that the main objective of the conference is to explore Sri Lankan-German business cooperation in the field of sustainable mobility. Participants will have the chance to gain valuable insights into the products and services German companies specifically offer for the Sri Lankan market.
Participating at the conference would be Mahinda Amaraweera, Minister of Passenger Transport Management, Power and Energy; Jörn Rohde, German Ambassador to Sri Lanka and the Maldives; Dr. Stephan Hesselmann, Head of Unit “Mobility Concepts, Transport Policy” at the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWi) and Andreas Hergenröther, Chief Delegate of German Industry and Commerce in Sri Lanka.
Keynote speeches will be given by Dr. Hesselmann, and by Sheran Fernando, Chairman of the Ceylon Motor Traders Association.
Two panel discussions with decision-makers from the industry and bank representatives will additionally provide insights on a variety of related issues including financing opportunities and the outlook for sustainable mobility in Sri Lanka. (BS)
