Uber on Wednesday announced the launch of an on-demand cash-out feature for couriers and drivers across Moto, Tuks and Cars to help eligible drivers cash out their earnings any day of the week, once they’ve earned a minimum amount of Rs. 100.
Speaking about the initiative, Pavan Vaish, Head of Supply & Driver Operations, Uber South Asia, said “Drivers and couriers drive our business. To help them in these challenging times, we’ve rolled-out an ‘On Demand cash-out feature’ which allows them the flexibility to cash out on any day of the week, instead of waiting for their weekly cash outs. Drivers and couriers on the Uber platform have always gone the extra mile for our customers, and we will continue to acknowledge their hard work by making driving/ delivering with Uber a more rewarding experience for them.”
The new feature aims to help with the financial stability and wellbeing of drivers and couriers, enabling them to cash-out their earnings whenever needed, subject to a nominal fee per transaction.
With a heightened sense of social responsibility, Uber has implemented many safety measures to help contain the spread of COVID-19 in the country. In order to maintain the highest safety and hygiene standards, Uber launched a comprehensive set of safety measures such as the Go Online Checklist, a mandatory mask policy for riders and drivers, and an updated cancellation policy.
Additionally, Uber invested Rs.10 million worth of cleaning supplies and protective equipment for drivers and couriers, including masks, sanitisers and disinfectants.
