The Asian Development Bank has agreed to provide US $3.9 million for the completion of road projects identified by the ADB, Transport Minister Bandula Gunawardena said.
Minister Gunawardena told the post-cabinet news conference that the funds are to be made available after turning down a request to provide US $53 million to complete remaining road projects.
He said, however, the assistance has been put on hold pending the foreign debt restructuring process.
The Minister said that the ADB on its own has identified the urgent projects which need completion and decided to release US $ 3.9 million within this year.
