The Asian Network for Free Elections (ANFREL) will fully deploy its observation team on November 11, 2024, ahead of Sri Lanka’s Parliamentary Elections on November 14.
The mission includes 13 long-term observers (LTOs) monitoring campaign activities, voter education, media coverage, and election administration across all 22 districts, along with additional short-term observers.
ANFREL’s 30-member team will monitor issues like state resource use, campaign finance compliance, and inclusivity of marginalized groups.
An interim report will be published on November 17, with a comprehensive final report to follow, aimed at strengthening election integrity and democratic reforms.
