A 38 year old, suspected to be a main follower of Underworld mobster Poogudi Kanna, was arrested by the Special Task Force in Kahathuduwa on September 16.
According to the information received by the officers of the Special Task Force Special Raid Unit of Colombo, a team of officers including Police Inspector B.S.H. Pieris conducted a raid on the address No. 119/G, Ambalangoda, Polgasowita, Kahathuduwa.
Consequently, a 38-year-old resident of Kotahena, Colombo 13, travelling on a motorcycle, was arrested while in possession of 13 grams of heroin valued at more than Rs. 3,000,000 and handed over to the Kahathuduwa Police Station for further investigation.
It has been revealed that the suspect is a main disciple and follower of Poogudi Kanna, an organized Underworld mobster and a large-scale drug dealer, and had assisted him in a murder in Aluth Mawatha, Redbanawatta area on June 6.
The suspect had also possessed two driving licences registered in the names of other persons, two revenue licences, two mobile phones, a wallet, a CD related to the suspect's activities and many other items.
