Dr. Saman Ratnayake, the Additional Secretary of the Ministry of Health, has appeared before the Maligakanda Magistrate’s Court today (Mar. 6) morning.
The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) detained him on March 1 in relation to the incident involving the substandard purchase of human intravenous immunoglobulin (IVIG).
Dr. Ratnayake is due to make a statement to the Magistrate today.
The final rites of veteran broadcaster, writer, and lyricist Nirmala de Alwis will be held today at Peradeniya.
