Navy managed to seize about 107kg and 840g of Kerala cannabis and arrested a suspect, during a foot patrol conducted in the beach area of Kadeikadu, Vettalakeni in North yesterday.
Accordingly, the Naval Detachment of Vettalakeni in the Northern Naval Command was able to apprehend a suspect who had attempted to escape the scene, during the foot patrol in the Kadeikadu beach area, according to the Navy.
The suspect had 16 parcels of Kerala cannabis in his possession when the apprehension was made. After further interrogation from him, the Navy also managed to recover 24 more sacks of Kerala cannabis hidden near a house in the area.
Overall, the Navy recovered 40 packages in total, and these packages contained about 107kg and 840g of Kerala cannabis. The street value of the seized stock of Kerala cannabis is believed to be over Rs. 32 million.
