Another suspect has been arrested in connection with the recent double murder in Devundara in the Gandara Police Division.
Officers from the Matara Division Crime Investigation Unit arrested the 34-year-old suspect on March 23. He is a resident of Devundara. The suspect has been handed over to the Gandara Police.
Two men traveling on a motorbike were shot dead by assailants who came in a van in front of the southern entrance of the Devundara Sri Vishnu Devalaya on the night of March 21.
The van the assailants had arrived in was later found burned. The suspect arrested on March 23 is alleged to be one of those connected to the burning of the van.
The Gandara Police and the Matara Division Crime Investigation Unit are conducting further investigations.
