An Artist who demanded bribes from two persons claiming that he could stop investigations against them has been arrested by the Bribery Commission in Matugama.
The arrest was made based on complaints made by a principal and a Sri Lanka Air Force officer.
He had demanded Rs 30,000 each from them claiming that they were facing inquiries by the Bribery Commission and that he could get the inquiries stopped.
The suspect identified as Vinodh Tharanga from Dodangoda had wanted them to deposit the money in his bank account.
The suspect is to be produced in the Colombo Chief Magistrate courts.
