A bear cub which was left behind by its mother was sent to Pandulagama Wildlife veterinary management center.
Wildlife officials attached to Kahatagadigilya who were on their way to Hurulu wildlife reserve had found the bear cub, and had handed over to Pandulagama Wildlife veterinary management center.
Currently the bear cub has been placed under the care of veterinarian, Udeshika Maduwanthi, and is in good health.
The bear cub was around two months old and 1.5 feet tall. The wildlife officers currently feed milk to the cub and are in the process of weaning the cub and getting it used to feed solid food. The cub would be held at the Wildlife veterinary management center until the bear cub would be able to fend itself in the wild and be released to wild.
