Minister Bimal Ratnayake has assured that necessary steps would be taken to protect King Sangiliyan's Minister's House, a symbol of the Jaffna Kingdom.
Ministers Ramalingam Chandrasekhar and Bimal Ratnayake visited the House after part of it collapsed due to heavy rains in Jaffna on Wednesday. One side of the King Sangiliyan's Minister's House, an archaeological landmark, had collapsed.
Chandrasekhar accompanied Minister Bimal Ratnayake, who had come to participate in the special meeting and development project launch events held in Jaffna yesterday.
After examining the conditions there, he inquired about it from the relevant authorities. Minister Chandrasekhar also said that the matter has been brought to the attention of the line minister.
The minister also assured that all necessary measures will be taken to protect the King Sangiliyan's Minister's House, a symbol of the Jaffna Kingdom.
However, TimesOnline learns that already there is a legal battle pending over the location.
