The Cabinet has granted approval to present the budget for 2025 in Parliament on January 9, Minister Dr. Nalinda Jayatissa said today.
Addressing the weekly Cabinet news conference he said that the Second Reading of the Budget will be on February 17 and the debate on the Third Reading will be from February 27 to March 21.
Until the Budget is approved the Government will operate on a Vote on Account.
The parliamentary debate on the Vote on Account will be held on December 5 and 6.
