CEB Chairman resigns

News

Chairman of the Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) M.M.C. Ferdinando tendered his resignation to President Gotabaya Rajapaksa today (26).

In a letter to the President, Mr. Ferdinando said he will give his resignation from the position of Chairman/Member of the Electricity Board with effect from February 01 this year due to a personal reason.

Mr. Ferdinando’s resignation comes at a time when the CEB is struggling to generate power amidst fuel shortage leading to island-wide power outages and the controversy surrounding the US New Fortress-Yugadanavi deal.
