The Ceylon Chamber of Commerce (CCC) said on Monday it is working directly with the Disaster Management Centre, which oversees Sri Lanka's primary emergency response network in channelling relief in the form of food and finances.
The chamber has asked member firms to channel all financial contributions to a bank account under the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce Disaster Relief Fund set up for this purpose. Essential items including water should be dropped off at the Ceylon Chamber offices in Colombo.
“Through this partnership, every donation made to the Ceylon Chamber’s flood relief drive is channelled through a trusted, nationwide system, giving it among the best chances of reaching those most in need. We encourage members, partners, and the public to contribute through these verified avenues,” the statement said.
