The Colombo Port City Economic Commission (the Commission) on Wednesday denied any link or connection that the Port City has with an incident involving a Chinese National being robbed at a residence in Lake Drive, Borella.
The Commission categorically refutes any claims insinuating that the individuals involved, maintain any affiliations, employment, or investment within the Colombo Port City, it said in a statement.
The Commission would like to emphasise, that it is essential to rely on accurate and verified information on such an incident in question of such an unfortunate criminal event, and any attempt to associate it with the activities within Colombo Port City is entirely unsubstantiated.
Informed sources said media reports of the incident were based on information provided by the police. Media reports, quoting the police, said the Chinese national in question has given false information to the police that he was robbed.
These misleading reports, the Commission said, can be detrimental to the reputation and credibility of the Colombo Port City project.
The Commission is actively collaborating with relevant authorities to address any concerns to ensure the well-being and security of all those associated with Colombo Port City to maintain the highest standards of safety and security.
