The Committee on High Posts has approved seven new appointments including a Ministry Secretary and Ambassadors.
The appointment of Mr. K.D.N.R Asoka as the secretary to the Ministry of Public Administration, Home Affairs, Provincial Councils and Local Government was among them.
The Secretary General of Parliament Mrs. Kushani Rohanadeera’s appointment too was approved.
Also, the appointment of Mrs. Keshunka Senewiratne as the High Commissioner of Sri Lanka to India , the appointment of Mr. C.R.B Bogollagama as the High Commissioner of Sri Lanka to the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. Mr. D.D.M.S.B Dissanayake as the High Commissioner of Singapore, Mr. W.K.C Weerasena as the Ambassador of Sri Lanka to Belgium and the European Union and Dr. B.K J. K Perera as the Chairman of Ceylon Fertilizer Company Limited were also confirmed.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said today that unilateral action by the UK and other countries in imposing sanctions on certain individuals do not assist but serve to complicate the national reconciliation process underway in Sri Lanka.
