News

The Dawson Tower, built in memory of  Captain William Francis Dawson., the architect of the Kandy- Colombo road  is being given  a facelift , after a number of years.

This Tower had been erected by those of his Regiments, after his death as he could not see his own work, when he died under strange circumstances.

The building of the Kandy-Colombo road across terrain was ordered by Governor Sir Edward Barnes named as the road builder for the British administration.
