Representatives from the Joint Development Officers' Centre arrived at the Ministry of Public Services, Provincial Councils and Local Government on Tuesday seeking a meeting with authorities to discuss what they said were several extremely urgent matters concerning Development Officers.
The group claimed names of more than 3000 Development Officers have not been included in list of candidates to fill vacancies for teaching appointments for qualified graduates in National Schools. Meanwhile, Diploma Holders and Development Officers in many districts continue to have their salaries and allowances delayed while those recruited on September 2 last year still have not received their appointment letters.
