Dr. Ananda Wijewickrama has been appointed as the new chairman of the National Medicines Regulatory Authority (NMRA).
The Minister of Health and Industries Dr. Ramesh Pathirana announced the appointment today (October 31) during a meeting with the NMRA at the Ministry of Health.
Having entered the public health sector in 1992, Dr. Wijewickrama became a Specialist in 2000.
He currently serves the role as a Senior Consultant Physician at the Infectious National Institute of Infectious Diseases (IDH) in Angoda.
