An earthmound has collapsed between Hali-Ela and Uduwara railway stations this morning, obstructing train services between Badulla and Colombo.
Sri Lanka Railways sources said the 'Udarata Menike' train from Badulla to Colombo will be delayed due to the obstruction of the railway track.
Clearing of the blocked section of track has already commenced.
A Sri Lanka Air Force Bell 212 helicopter belonging to the No. 72 squadron has crashed into the Madhuru Oya reservoir this morning, Air FOrce Media Spokesman Eranda Geeganage said.
