The CID has arrested Susantha de Silva, former Managing Director of the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CPC) for allegedly misappropriating 6.1 million rupees in 2014.
The funds, meant for flood relief in Bingiriya and Narammala, were reportedly diverted for the 2015 presidential election campaign.
De Silva will be presented before the Colombo Magistrate's Court today.
