Three more family members of former Minister of Health, Keheliya Rambukwella -his two daughters and the son-in-law were taken into custody by the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC) today under money laundering charges.
Accordingly, Chamithri Rambukwella, Amali Rambukwella and her husband, Isuru Pulasthi Bandara were arrested based on the investigation carried out by CIABOC under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act over undeclared assets of nearly Rs 134 million, including a residential property and motor vehicles.
Earlier, former Health Minister Keheliya Rambukwella, his wife, and daughter were remanded yesterday after failing to fulfil bail conditions by the Colombo Magistrate Courts.
The Courts ordered the suspects to be released on a cash bail of Rs. 50,000 and three surety bails amounting to Rs. 5 million each in addition to imposing travel ban on the former Minister.
