A new branch office of the Department of Motor Traffic has been opened at the Bandaranaike International Aiport Katunayake, from today, enabling foreign tourists visiting Sri Lanka to obtain a driving license valid for the country.
Transport Minister Bimal Ratnayake opened the office.
Earlier the foreigners were forced to visit the Motor Traffic department in Werahera.
An Indian national who obtained a license to driver a three-wheeler was the first make use of the facility today.
