Foreign Ministry introduces emergency response unit

An emergency response unit has been established by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Employment and Tourism to coordinate matters arising in the Middle East.

The unit has been created to protect approximately 1 million Sri Lankans living and working in the region, as well as to address the issues they face on a case-by-case basis.

It will be operational daily (all seven days) from 8:00 A.M. to 8:00 P.M.
