Former Prisons Commissioner General Thushara Upuldeniya who was arrested over the release of a so called Presidential pardon to ineligible inmates, was released on bail today.
Colombo Chief Magistrate Thanuja Lakmali ordered to grant bail to the suspect with a cash bail of Rs. 25,000 and two surety bails of Rs. 2 million each.
The Magistrate also ordered that the suspect be barred from entering any prison in Sri Lanka. The suspect was also subjected to a travel ban, and was ordered to hand over his passport to court.
