Forty-six Sri Lankan domestic workers in Kuwait were sent back to the country by the Kuwait authorities this morning.
The deportees had stayed there illegally and wanted to come back to the country. Therefore, they had registered with the Sri Lankan Embassy in Kuwait to return home.
The visas had expired of these persons. Some of them returned due to illnesses and other issues.
Furthermore, around 2000 Sri Lankan domestic workers in Kuwait have registered to return to the country.
