Forty four protestors including 40 teachers were granted bail by Fort Magistrate Priyantha Liyanage today (05).
Each protester was released on a personal bail of Rs. 100,000 by court. They were arrested at yesterday’s teacher-principal protest march near the Presidential Secretariat. The Magistrate also ordered the release of vehicles seized at the protest march.
A tense situation arose between police and teacher union representatives near the court premises.( Pix by M.A.Pushpakumara)
