The Secretary to the Ministry of Telecommunications, Jayantha de Silva told the Times online that they have decided to provide permits to telecommunication tower operators to purchase fuel from the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CPC) .
He explained that this move was taken as there were many complaints from people that telecommunication services get disrupted during power cuts.
Therefore they had discussions with the CPC and arranged a permit system where the telecommunication tower operators purchase fuel for their generators.
