Thirteen Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) Parliamentarians have decided to work as an independent group in Parliament from today.
Prof. G.L.Peiris, Dullas Alahapperuma, Prof. Channa Jayasumana, Prof. Charitha Herath, Dr.Nalaka Godahewa, Dilan Perera, Dr. Gunadasa Ratnasekare, Dr. Thilak Rajapaksa, Udayana Kirindigoda, Wasantha Yapa Bandara, Dr. Upul Galapaththi, Lalith Ellawala and K.P.S.Kumarasiri will now be independent MPs in the House. Several MPs held ministerial positions during Gotabaya Rajapaksa presidency.
