The government has granted approval to creat a single digital platform the 'Government Superapp' from where the public will be able to get access to a wide range of public services.
The project, to be completed in two phases in 2025 - 2026, as outlined in the proposal presented by the president, it is estimated cost Rs.500 million.
Citizens are presently suffering with great inconvenience in getting state services due to faulty systems, multiple authentication steps, and duplication of submitting data to government departments, the Cabinet noted. Studies indicate that all these inefficiencies are costing the economy more than Rs.500 million a year.
The government has therefore decided to proceed with the project, which will integrate service delivery, remove duplication and increase convenience to the public.
