The Natural Hazards Early Warning Centre of the Department of meteorology issued Heat index Advisory for several districts tomorrow under the category of "Extreme Caution'.
The heat index advisory is applicable to Mullaitivu, Vavuniya, Mannar, Puttalam, Kurunegala, Anuradhapura, Polonnaruwa and Monaragala districts. "Heat cramps and heat exhaustion are possible. Continuing activity could result in heat stroke," the advisory said.
The department also urged public to stay hydrated and takes breaks in the shade as often as possible during the daytime.
