Meteorology Department forecasted that showers will occur at times in Northern, North-central, Eastern and Northwestern provinces and in Matale and Nuwara-Eliya districts.

According to them fairly Heavy falls above 50 mm are likely at some places in Northern, North-central, and Northwestern provinces and in Trincomalee district.

They also forecasted that showers or thundershowers may occur at several places elsewhere after 2.00 p.m.

They requested the general public to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
