Heavy showers above 100mm are expected in Western, Sabaragamuwa provinces and Galle and Matara districts, the Meterology Department said.
Issuing a heavy rainfall advisory, the Department's Natural Hazard's Early Warning Centre said due to active Southwest monsoon conditions over the island, heavy rain is expected today and the next few days.
Rainy condition will also prevail in North western province as well as Kandy and Nuwara Eliya districts.
