Showers or thundershowers are predicted in much of the island after 1:00 pm today (15), a Duty Meteorologist of the Department of Meteorology said.
Occasional rains are likely in Southern, Eastern and Uva Provinces as well as in Jaffna, Mullaitivu, Matale and Polonnaruwa Districts.
A few showers are possible in Vavuniya, Kilinochchi, Mannar and Anuradhapura Districts.
Besides, heavy rainfall over 100mm is due in most of Southern, Uva, Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central and Eastern Provinces.
Parts of Western, Sabaragamuwa and Central Provinces will have misty mornings.
