Multiple places in several provinces will experience showers or thundershowers today (9) after 1:00 pm, the Department of Meteorology said.
Heavy rainfall over 100mm is due at certain locations in Central, Sabaragamuwa, Western and Uva Provinces along with Galle and Matara Districts.
A few morning showers are expected in Northern, Southern, Western and Eastern Provinces.
Some parts in Uva Province and Ampara District will have misty mornings.
Customs have detected 228 mobile phones and tabs valued at over Rs 30 million left behind in the duty free shopping complex at the Banaranaike International Airport today, Customs officials said.
