Port trade unions held another protest this afternoon demanding that the government scrap alleged plans to hand over a majority stake in the Colombo Port's East Container Terminal (ECT) to an Indian company.
The protesters also demanded that the government withdraw the Cabinet paper that has been allegedly prepared in this regard.
Port sector trade unions also launched a work-to-rule campaign from this afternoon in protest over the ECT issue.
