Lakpa Footwear apologises over temporary unavailability of ‘Fun Shoe’ brand

Leading local footwear manufacturers, Lakpa Footwear (Pvt) Ltd has apologised to its customers and retail partners for the temporary unavailability of its popular children’s ‘Fun Shoe’ range following a recent legal dispute.

The company acknowledged the inconvenience caused by the disruption and thanked customers for their patience during this period, it said in a statement issued on Tuesday.

“We recognise the disappointment this may have caused families and retailers awaiting deliveries,” said Malitha Kannangara, CEO/Managing Director of Lakpa Footwear. “We are working through the legal process and remain committed to resolving the matter as swiftly as possible. We take pride in the originality of our designs and the creativity of our in-house team. ‘Fun Shoe’ reflects the standards of innovation and care we apply to all our products.”

 

Lakpa Footwear maintains that its’ Fun Show range was developed through the company’s own design process, in line with its longstanding commitment to innovation and original craftsmanship. The company confirmed that it would continue to offer all its other popular ranges of men’s, women’s and children’s footwear. Lakpa Footwear exports its flip-flops to countries across Europe, Asia, Oceania, and the West Indies.

While Lakpa’s exports bring much-needed foreign exchange into the country, based on popular local demand, the company is also expanding its presence in Sri Lanka by introducing an innovative range of footwear whose design and build quality will go beyond regional standards.
