Badulla District New Democratic Front (NDF) Parliamentarian Chamara Sampath Dassanayake has been arrested by the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption.
He has been arrested over an alleged incident of corruption that occurred during his tenure as Uva Province Chief Minister.
The MP was questioned by officials of the Bribery Commission earlier this morning and was arrested thereafter.
He is due to be produced before the Colombo Magistrate's Court later today.
