The National People’s Power (NPP) extend its lead in the Parliamentary election as results continued to pour in and the party winning all 25 electoral results announced so far.
The party has won all electorates in the Galle and Hambantota and Polonnaruwa districts.
Accordingly the party has won all 10 electorates in the Galle districts and all four electorates in the Hambantota district as well as three electrates in Polonnaruwa
In addition the NPP has won the Matale, Akuressa, Devinuwara, Matara and Eheliyagoda elctorates.
The most significant victory was in Jaffna where the NPP won by securing 41. 4 per cent of the vote in contrast to the 8.82 per cent they gained at the Presidential elections in September. They also won the Nallur seat.
Of the postal vote result too the NPP had won in all the districts where the results have been announced. They included Kalutara, Hambantota, Galle, Monaragala, Colombo, Badulla, Matale, Nuwara Eliya, Trincomalee, Ratnapura, Matara , Polonnaruwa , Puttalam and Kegalle.
