Namal Rajapaksa facing arrest warrant returns from Maldives
MP Namal Rajapaksa on whom an arrest warrant was issued on Monday returned to the country today from Maldives.
Mr Rajapaksa arrived around 11.30 a.m. and left the Bandaranaike International Airport
His lawyers and a few supporters were present at the airport
Airport sources said that the Immigration officials or the Police had not been informed to arrest him.
The Hambantota Magistrate court on Monday issued the arrest warrant as Mr Rajapaksa had not been present in courts where a case against him was being taken up. He had been charged for taking part in an anti-government protest in 2017 in Hambantota.
