The Colombo High Court today granted bail to stand-up comedian Natasha Edirisooriya, who was arrested for making controversial statements about Buddhism.
Natasha's petition was heard before Colombo High Court Judge Aditya Patabendi.
The stand-up comedian was ordered to be released on bail conditions after Deputy Solicitor General Dileepa Peiris, who appeared on behalf of the Attorney General, raised no objections to granting bail to Edirisooriya.
Earlier in, the Colombo Fort Magistrate's Court ordered Ms Edirisooriya be remanded until July 12.
